The Role:
Maintaining accurate stock control records for all stock, issuing stock to the workshop and dispatching stock to remote sites for internal and external customers, returns to suppliers.
Job Objectives:
The Stores Person is responsible for the accurate receipt and issue of all stock relating to overheads or projects.
Responsibilities:
General
- Providing a cohesive and efficient stores service to internal and external customers
Leadership
- Effectively manage own workload
Ownership and Accountability
- Receipt of goods, confirm compliance with Delivery Note and Purchase Order, book onto IT system
- Label goods, locate on racking/laydown area
- Pick part list items from work packs and issue to workshop, record onto IT system
- Pick and pack parts for dispatch in accordance with Consignment Note
- Maintain accurate stock control, identify shortfalls and maintain agreed minimum stock levels
- Raise Purchase Requisitions and liase with Buyers
- Issue and receive tools, equipment, PPE, consumables and lifting equipment to and from personnel, record onto IT system
- Ensure tools, equipment, PPE, consumables and lifting equipment are in calibration, tested and checked for damage/serviceability, quarantine as necessary
- Deliver and collect goods as required in company vehicle
Risk Management
- Monitor stock, report and instigate relevant practical quarantine measures where applicable
- Identify whether COSHH/hazard data measures are applicable
Quality
- Carry out pre daily checks on all vehicles before use, report any damage caused to and by the vehicle (relevant Licence required)
- Ensure parts are packed and dispatched in accordance with the customs regulations and legislation of the destination address
- Raise QF004 Non-Conformance Reports as required
- Complete regular inspection of all workshop shelving and ladders in line with statutory regulations as required (relevant course to be completed)
- Ensure accurate high quality documentation is produced
- Ensure compliance with practices/templates/guidelines/standards and approved processes throughout
- Support the HSEQ standards and practices within
Support
- Provide support and guidance to other functions as required
Core Competencies:
Technical
- Warehousing/Stores experience in an engineering and/or industrial environment
- Competent IT skills Excel and MRP IFS
- Testing and inspection experience
Commercial
- Awareness and appreciation of market trends and product developments
Behavioral
- Attention to detail – closer/finisher type
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks
- Ability to use past experience and knowledge to achieve solutions to problems
- Works with minimum supervision
- Good communication skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- GCSE Mathematics and English or similar (e.g. HNC)
- Valid Mobile Plant/Forklift license for Counter Balance and Reach Trucks
- Full Driving License
