The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for us to recruit an interim within the Health & Safety department for up to 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring health and safety performance during the outage works, paying particular attention to PPE compliance, housekeeping, material / equipment storage and fire safety precautions
  • Carrying out face to face discussions with those involved in the outage works and promote continuous improvement in all aspects of health and safety performance
  • Conducting health and safety audits / workplace inspections and compiling written reports
  • Assisting in the development of and delivering induction training
  • Being flexible taking into consideration the prospect to work evenings and weekends
  • Delivering of toolbox talks and communication of health and safety related bulletins
  • Attendance at safety forums such as the daily co-ordination meeting, HSE group meeting and weekly contractor’s safety officer meeting
  • Participating in accident and incident investigations and communicate any lessons learned
  • Assisting and supporting in planning of any health and safety initiatives related to the outage works

Our Ideal Candidate

Background

  • Has experience / knowledge of knowledge of health and safety legislation and ability to monitor effective application
  • Knowledge and experience of power station or other major engineering maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Delivery of in-house training as and when required within areas of experience and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Minimum NEBOSH General or Construction certificate
