Role Overview
Reporting directly to the CMM Engineer, work as part of a team to co-ordinate company CMM inspection activities to ensure the required work throughput is achieved in order to meet customer deadlines.
General Duties & Responsibilities
To liaise with the CMM Engineer with regard to allocation of work.
To operate a range of CMM machines in line with production requirements.
To operate more than one machine simultaneously, where possible.
To programme a range of CMM machines in line with production requirements.
To read, interpret and understand engineering drawings from a range of customers and industries.
To assist in determining the programming requirements based on the drawing and engineering requirements, with specific focus on understanding Geometrics, Dimensions and Tolerances (G,D &T).
To perform 100% Inspection of components.
To assist in producing clear reports, needing little to no interpretation and are presentable to customers.
To ensure component traceability / identification is present and correct.
To assist in identifying and utilising the most effective and efficient method of checking components.
Raise DMR (defective material review) in line with the identified process.
To ensure quality system procedures are being adhered to and are operating effectively.
Ensure 5S principles are applied to QC department and standards are sustained to audit requirements.
Ensure documentation is accurate and maintained to a high standard.
To have a flexible approach to work activities including working various machines within capability and working shifts as required to meet production needs.
General duties within the manufacturing facilities, including housekeeping.
Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy.
To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected.
Person Specification Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of accurately converting metric / imperial measurements.
Knowledge in the use of precision measuring equipment, to include; micrometers, depth gages, verneers and calipers.
Experience
Demonstrable experience of programming and operating various CMM machines, to include setup and basic program editing.
Experience of CMM inspection activities in a manufacturing environment.
Experience of CMM inspection of components for various industries (aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, defence).

Apprenticeship certificate in a relevant discipline – I.e. engineering.
