Job Objectives:
To provide support to the Senior Commissioning Engineer to ensure the effective delivery of all Company products from the stage of pre-contract award, commissioning plan development through to factory acceptance and site installation & test. Undertake physical commissioning activities as well as producing relevant reports and documentation.
Commissioning engineers will be engaged in the testing of bespoke equipment to make sure they function correctly and produce the expected results. In doing so they will bring the product or system to a point at which it can be used most effectively.
Commissioning engineers therefore need to possess a thorough understanding of the construction and product use, as well as customer expectations. They will be embedded into a Project team and will work closely with the Construction department from concept stage to sea trials.
Job Specific Duties:
To assist the Senior Commissioning Engineer in developing commissioning plans for enquiries, proposals and projects from an electrical perspective.
Provide experienced input to develop the commissioning and test plans including FAT’s and sea trials.
To manage and maintain the department’s equipment & assets, test equipment, in-house spares, highlighting areas of concern and development to the Snr Commissioning Engineer.
To assist the Snr Commissioning Engineer /project team with the implementation of the commissioning plan and gaining acceptance of the equipment to schedule and budget.
To assist with the resolution of Electrical technical issues, that may arise during the commissioning and service of equipment.
To insure that LOTO procedure is in place at all times.
To support the development and complete suitable documentation during the commissioning phases including punch lists, test records, acceptance certification and commissioning close out reports.
To record customer feedback on equipment performance,. Use this information to improve company performance going forward.
Complete daily reports (DPRs), progress reports and publish to agreed mailing lists.
Ensure all tasks are completed to company, client and site safety management systems standards.
Liaise with all relevant departments (Design, Construction, and Supply Chain ) to ensure smooth transition and sign-off of the contract at all involved phases.
Develop and maintain good working relationships between company and client/site/supplier representatives.
Participate in knowledge sharing activities, to ensure the progress and development of all team members.
Participate in training and development programs, to assist in career progression of oneself and others.
Ensure all documentation is prepared prior to commissioning and support activities commencing.
Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary equipment performance in accordance with project schedule requirements.
Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Construction and Commissioning or a director of the company.

Essential Skills:
Skilled in advance electrical knowledge
Permit to work Procedures
18TH Edition on Electronics
High voltage and fibre optics
Be competent in the use of all Microsoft Office products
Be able to read and understand mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics/drawings to a basic standard
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
To be able to work away from home for extended periods of time (in general no more than 6 weeks unless mutually agreed)
Be able to fault find and provide temporary/permanent solutions on site
Knowledge of safe working practices, isolation methods, PTW etc…
Experience of Low Voltage (mainly 230V – 440V) commissioning and fault finding
Experience with commissioning safety circuits, E-Stops etc…
Experience of testing & fault finding control panels, MCC’s, motors, Drive systems etc…
Supervisory experience would be advantageous
Desirable Skills:
Several years’ experience in the onsite/offshore/marine environment would be advantageous
