Purpose of the Job
The role of the Electrical Engineer is to review electrical engineering drawings with Design Engineers, Senior Engineers and Project Manager. Electrical design and programming. Inspect, assemble, test and commission electrical systems as identified by Project Lead. Work Offshore on hire or commissioning projects, supervising any Technicians or Cable Operators
Specific Duties
Electrical Design – identifying customer and project requirements, liaise with the hydraulic & mechanical designer, concept design, produce electrical schematic, create test documentation.
Production of parts lists. Liaise with suppliers for quotations, purchase, progress of kit.
Programming – write the program, make any modifications as per customer, Project Lead requests. Modify HMI to suit. Bench test and assist with electrical commissioning.
Define positioning of key electrical components during build and assembly.
Carry out controlled testing of systems to test procedures – including documenting results.
Production of test procedures.
With the agreement of the Project Manager adapt, modify and upgrade electrical equipment as necessary and ensure drawings are marked up for subsequent revision. Initial snagging of a new build / serviced piece of hire kit. Carry out pre commissioning checks of the electrical system. Commissioning of projects. Manage small teams inspecting and testing equipment to FAT procedures. Documenting results. Be responsible for specific inspection, build, test documentation to hand over to Project Lead to update project.

Job scope will include but not be limited to the above. At certain times the work and working hours will vary dependent upon specific project requirements as advised by your Line Manager. The role may involve national and international travel.
